Phase Change Materials (PCMs)

PCMs, encompassing latent heat storage materials, play a pivotal role in temperature control. These materials seamlessly absorb heat while melting and release it when crystallizing or freezing. Such a mechanism ensures that the desired storage temperature is maintained throughout transportation. By effectively managing the ingress of heat or cold during phase transitions (from solid to liquid and back), PCMs guarantee temperature consistency for durations surpassing 120 hours.

Conventional mediums like water have a melting point limitation of 0°C. In contrast, RuhrTech’s PCM innovation employs specialized paraffins and salts, providing an impressive temperature spectrum of -50°C to +37°C.

RuhrTech is not confined to off-the-shelf solutions. We specialize in crafting bespoke PCM solutions tailored to unique client requirements.

In essence, our avant-garde PCM technology facilitates universal packaging configurations, adaptable to varying climatic conditions and specific temperature ranges.

RuhrTech’s OP Product Series comprises organic phase change material (PCM), an energy storage material that utilizes the property of absorbing or releasing a significant amount of latent heat during the transition process from solid to liquid states. This material provides efficient solutions for both cold storage and heat storage.

Advantages

  • RAL-certified

  • High energy storage capacity

  • Good cycling stability

  • No supercooling or precipitation phenomena

  • Stable properties and a long service life

  • Non-toxic, harmless, and non-corrosive

RuhrTech’s RE Product Series comprises inorganic phase change material (PCM), an energy storage material that utilizes the property of absorbing or releasing a significant amount of latent heat during the transition process from solid to liquid states. This material provides efficient solutions for both cold storage and heat storage.

Advantages

  • RAL-certified

  • High energy storage density

  • High thermal conductivity

  • Minimal change in phase change volume

  • No significant supercooling phenomenon

  • Non-toxic and harmless

RuhrTech’s BIO Product Series comprises of a type of organic phase change material (PCM) that can be degraded by microorganisams. The material utilizes the phase transition process of substances between solid and liquid states to absorb or release a large amount of latent heat.

Advantages

  • RAL-certified

  • Environmentally friendly and degradable

  • High energy storage density

  • Good cyclic stability, stable properties, and a long service life

  • Non-toxic and harmless

RuhrTech’s MIS Product Series is a new functional phase change material (PCM) that utilizes porous adsorption to absorb and immobilize organic phase change materials within a supporting material.

Advantages

  • RAL-certified

  • High enthalpy

  • High thermal conductivity

  • Maintains a solid powder state before and after phase change

RuhrTech’s PCE Product Series consists of a new type of phase change emulsion material that possesses the capability of storing cold or heat and exhibiting stable performance. The principal feature of this product is its ability to maintain a liquid state throughout the phase change process, while also demonstrating excellent fluidity.

Advantages

  • RAL-certified

  • High energy storage density

  • Thermodynamic system stability

  • Environmental friendliness, stable properties, and a long service life

RuhrTech’s DuraPack utilizes mold shaping for the encapsulation and protection of PCM.

Existing gel packs that contain organic PCMs (2-8℃, 15-25℃) often encounter the issue of surface swelling during extended use, leading to oil stains on the surface that contaminate the drug product. Even worse, PCM volume will also decrease, resulting in failure to achieve the desired temperature control effect. To address this pain point, RuhrTech employs a unique surface treatment technology that will effectively prevent these phenomena, ensuring the safety of drugs during long-term use and reducing the cost of each use for our clients.

Ruhr PaperPack is a disposable coolant made of paper packaging that can be customized with RuhrTech’s RAL-certified PCMs to meet various temperature requirements.

PaperPack does not require molding, which reduces lead time and cost. It can be rapidly and efficiently produced on-demand, ensuring prompt production even in time-critical situations. With PaperPack, you can have a reliable and cost-effective solution for your cold chain packaging needs.

FreshBottle is designed to align with RuhrTech’s core principles of flexibility and durability. The design principle of this product is to make FreshBottle a minimum unit just like one Lego piece, which can be easily combined to fit a range of box sizes available on the market, making it an incredibly versatile packaging solution. At the same time, FreshBottle is specifically designed to be more durable than your average ice packs and more cost-effective than gel packs, making it a perfect fit for a wide range of applications.

Advantages

  • Compared to regular ice packs, it is more stab-proof and leak-proof, and its fixed shape prevents deformation

  • Compared to regular gel packs, it is more lightweight and cost-effective
  • Designed as a minimum unit, it can be flexibly combined and build up to adapt various box specifications
